Audeara brings personalised hearing tech to Taiwan

Hearing health specialist Audeara (ASX: AUA) has launched its co-branded Clinico Sound Earbuds in Taiwan as the group’s strategy of penetrating international markets gathers momentum.

More specifically, the company aims to scale its ‘AUA Technology’ division into foreign markets through product integration and white-label partners already boasting established sales and distribution channels.

Strategic partnership for hearing tech

In this case, the successful launch of Clinico Sound Earbuds builds on Audeara’s strategic partnership with Taiwan’s largest hearing aid retailer, Clinico. It also represents the culmination of a lengthy period of product co-development between the pair.

Here, the Clinico Sound Earbuds incorporate Audeara’s proprietary technology which helps to provide exceptional audio quality and tailored soundscapes that meet the unique needs of every individual.

More broadly, the product launch marks the entry into a significant new addressable market for the Audeara’s AUA Technology division and adds momentum to the group’s aspiration of addressing the global need for accessible hearing health technology.

Audeara chief executive officer and founder, Dr James Fielding, commented:

“As the largest hearing aid retailer in Taiwan, Clinico provides the Company with a unique distribution advantage which is expected to expand further now that the product is officially in-market. With this product launch, we have established a strong platform for growth in major Asian markets, further complementing our broader international momentum.”

Asian market expansion

Founded in 1986, Clinico provides comprehensive services to hospitals and individuals in Taiwan and China from its network of more than 140 branches and offices.

The new product launch builds on a $570,000 purchase order from Clinico for healthy hearing earbuds incorporating Ardea’s leading sound personalisation technology, as reported in October.

According to the company, it denotes a critical step in Audeara’s strategic expansion into Asian markets. It also supports its recently executed collaboration with Eastech to supply hearing aids in China.

In September last year, Audeara entered a binding letter of intent to license its technology to Eastech – a specialist in the design and production of high-quality audio devices. The duo aims to develop and distribute hearing devices in the Chinese medical market.

Management believes that the launch of Clinico Sound Earbuds highlights Audeara’s ability to successfully integrate its technology into products that are supported by key distribution partners in major Asian markets. In turn, the group is now well positioned to advance the collaboration with Eastech in 2025 and beyond.

Dr Fielding added:

“The launch of Clinico Sound Earbuds in Taiwan is a proud moment for Audeara, showcasing the results of our ongoing dedication and innovation in healthy hearing solutions. This milestone also demonstrates the strength of our partnerships and the global relevance of our expertise, which extends beyond the Taiwanese market to collaborations such as our work with Eastech for the Chinese market.”

As things stand, Audeara sells its products through distributors and resellers in Australia, Europe, Asia and North America, and via e-commerce channels.

Global market opportunity

More broadly, the company is looking to carve out its own slice of a vast and expanding global market opportunity. It estimates that the worldwide market for True Wireless Stereo earbuds could grow at a compound annual growth rate of 34.8 per cent to reach US$560 billion in value by the end of the decade.

Furthermore, research from the World Health Organisation concluded that more than 1.5 billion people live with some degree of hearing loss. This number is projected to grow to 2.5 billion by 2050.

Management believes that the Clinico Sound Earbuds are strategically positioned to serve this growing demand thanks to the product’s focus on personalised and enhanced hearing experiences.
